Time keeps on slippin' slippin' slippin' into the future

Showing my age and my current frame of mind.

Please keep that golden paper for upcoming events in 3rd grade -- so much going on.

Near and dear to my heart is the 3rd annual "Kids Kicking Out Hunger" kickball tournament.  Such a fun way to help others.  The $12 donation supports children in Honduras through the Friends of Los Ninos organization.

Mrs. Bartholomew (4th) and Mrs. Couture and I all are personally involved with this Honduras orphanage.  The goal is to help feed school age children and get them enrolled in school to break the devastating cycle of poverty in Honduras.  Honestly I could tell you stories that would horrify you and break your heart.

Just one example ... the average age of girls having children is 16 and the average education is 3rd grade.  A very dangerous combination.  Two of the girls in the orphanage are there because their parents fed them dirt because they were so hungry!  Consequently they got serious bacterial infections requiring medical intervention.  That is simply the least sad history.  Others are as a result of drug and physical abuse.

So ... definitely a pet project for me.  We also collect pantry items for the Round Rock Serving Center to support families in need here locally.

Checks go the office, registration is HERE.  Hope to see you there.
